Our skin changes over the years and loses volume and elasticity over time. The result: small wrinkles form and the facial contours become blurred, making the face look tired and older. This impression can be counteracted in a gentle way. Liquid lifting provides targeted volume enhancement in certain areas of the face without the need for surgery. The face appears fresher, more radiant and younger. Various materials and methods are available for liquid lifting. Dr. Schumacher offers liquid lifting in Mannheim with both hyaluronic acid and Sculptra® (polylactic acid). Both materials have their individual advantages and are suitable for different applications.

Make an appointment for a personal consultation with Dr. Schumacher in Mannheim and find out more about the benefits of liquid lifting and which type of gentle facial rejuvenation is best for you.

Frequently asked questions about liquid lifting in Mannheim

Liquid lifting is a minimally invasive method for rejuvenating facial skin and reducing wrinkles. Certain substances are injected into the relevant areas, which have a special effect on the skin. Hyaluronic acid has the ability to bind a lot of moisture and gives the skin additional volume, making it appear plumper and more elastic and small wrinkles disappear. Polylactic acid (Sculptra®), on the other hand, stimulates the body's own production of collagen, which in turn makes the skin firmer and more elastic and can therefore also reduce deep wrinkles.

Liquid lifting is generally suitable for anyone who wants gentle facial rejuvenation through gentle wrinkle treatment. Depending on the type and depth of the wrinkles, hyaluronic acid or polylactic acid is particularly suitable for this. The prerequisite for the treatment is that the skin is healthy and has no acute infections, injuries or inflammation. You should also have a healthy immune system, not be prone to increased scarring and not be taking any medication that affects blood clotting. We would be happy to advise you in a personal consultation at our practice in Mannheim as to whether and which liquid lifting method is best suited to you.

Before every treatment, Dr. Schumacher conducts a detailed personal consultation with you in his practice in Mannheim. This is about your wishes and ideas and how these can best be put into practice. After an examination and the decision for a specific treatment method, we will draw up your personal treatment plan and inform you about the procedure and possible risks of the treatment.

The Liquid Lift is performed on an outpatient basis in our practice in Mannheim. After carefully disinfecting and anaesthetizing the treatment area with a locally effective anaesthetic cream, the hyaluronic acid or polylactic acid is injected into the skin in a targeted manner.

After the treatment, you can leave the practice immediately and go about your normal daily business. Please follow the instructions for aftercare in order to support the treatment result and the healing process in the best possible way.

For an optimal, natural result, it is important that the active ingredient is evenly distributed under the skin. Experience has shown that several sessions are required for this. Of course, we will create an individual treatment plan for you in our practice in Mannheim, but in most cases 2-3 sessions are sufficient. These should be carried out at intervals of 6-8 weeks.

No, the injections are carried out with very fine needles and, if desired, under local anesthetic and are therefore virtually painless. Apart from a slight stinging sensation, nothing is usually felt.

Liquid lifting is considered a very gentle and safe treatment with no known major risks. Immediately afterwards, slight swelling, redness or minor bruising may occur in the relevant areas. These can be softened by careful cooling and - if necessary - concealed with a little make-up. However, they usually disappear on their own within a few days.

Although you will be fit for social life again immediately after a liquid lift, you should still allow yourself some rest and ideally avoid physical exertion such as sport for a few days. You should also avoid excessive heat and direct sunlight during this time. You can carefully cool any redness or swelling to help these minor after-effects subside.

As a rule, you will be fit for social life and work immediately after a liquid lift. You should only resume physically strenuous activities after 2-3 days. There may be slight swelling or redness immediately after the treatment. In our experience, however, these can be concealed very well with make-up.

The first changes may already be visible after the first or second session. The final result is visible when all swelling has subsided after the last session and the injected substances have taken effect. This is the case for most patients after 2-3 months at the latest.

This depends on the material used: hyaluronic acid is broken down by the body within 6-8 months. Polylactic acid has a longer duration of action of 12-24 months. The results of liquid lifting last correspondingly long.

Yes, repetition is even sensible or necessary. On the one hand, an optimal result can usually only be achieved with 2-3 sessions. On the other hand, regular refreshing is necessary to maintain the result in the long term.

Yes, that is possible. We will be happy to draw up a comprehensive treatment plan to achieve the best possible result for you.
