An hourglass-shaped body corresponds to the beauty ideal of our time. A feminine, sensual figure can often be achieved by slimming the waist using liposuction and simultaneously reshaping the shape of the buttocks with autologous fat. This technique, also known as the "Brazilian butt lift", has been successfully performed by Dr. Lars Schumacher for years, whereby the existing curves are accentuated with the body's own fat using his safe fat transfer technique.

Depending on your personal requirements (amount of fat to be removed, number and distribution of the areas to be removed), Dr. Lars Schumacher recommends performing the treatment in one or more stages.  Dr. Lars Schumacher has performed regular body fat transfers over the last 15 years and can perform this treatment on you routinely and safely.

Frequently asked questions about the Brazilian butt lift in Mannheim

A detailed consultation always takes place in Mannheim before the Brazilian butt lift. Dr. Schumacher will explain to you exactly how a butt augmentation with autologous fat works and what results you can expect. You will also be fully informed about the risks, side effects and the exact procedure.

If you opt for a Brazilian butt lift, Dr. Schumacher will work with you to determine the extent to which your buttocks should be sculpted and from which area of the body the donor fat should be taken. The typical "problem areas" on the waist or thighs, for example, are suitable for this.

The butt lift itself is performed under general anesthesia and takes about 2 - 3 hours on average. First, Dr. Schumacher harvests the body's own fatty tissue using a gentle form of liposuction. The fat cells are then processed and injected into the desired areas using a fine cannula.

After the operation, a little patience is required until the treatment results become visible. The body breaks down some of the injected fat cells over the following weeks. We can assess the final result in Mannheim after around 4 - 6 weeks.

In principle, the Brazilian butt lift is suitable for any patient who wants an aesthetically rounded buttocks and wants to get rid of small fat deposits elsewhere. We can optimally combine both in the Brazilian butt lift.

Butt augmentation with autologous fat is not suitable for patients with a very low body fat percentage. If you do not have sufficient autologous fat available, we will be happy to advise you in Mannheim on possible alternatives. The procedure is also not suitable for weight reduction.

An important prerequisite for a safe procedure is that you are in good general health. To ensure this, Dr. Schumacher always conducts a detailed preliminary consultation. Some preliminary examinations may also be necessary.

In principle, the Brazilian butt lift lasts a lifetime. Once fat cells have grown, they are not lost again. However, the natural ageing process continues even after the procedure, and significant weight fluctuations can also affect the treatment results under certain circumstances. We therefore recommend that you maintain a healthy lifestyle and a balanced diet after the Brazilian butt lift in Mannheim. Strong weight fluctuations should be avoided as far as possible.

The Brazilian butt lift has fallen into disrepute in recent years due to repeated cases of life-threatening fat embolisms. This risk exists in particular with the classic form of the Brazilian butt lift. In this procedure, the fat cells are injected directly into the gluteal muscle, which is heavily supplied with blood. Individual fat droplets can thus enter the bloodstream and cause a vascular occlusion.

To rule out such serious complications from the outset, Dr. Schumacher only performs the so-called Safe Brazilian butt lift. With this method, the donor fat is only injected into the subcutaneous tissue and not into the muscle. Before the procedure, there is also a detailed consultation in which Dr. Schumacher is happy to address your fears and concerns.

After the Brazil butt lift, it is important that you consistently rest the buttock region for a few weeks. We recommend sleeping in a prone position and avoiding prolonged sitting. You will also be fitted with a special compression garment, which should be worn around the clock except when showering. The compression garment supports the healing process and contributes to optimal shaping.

Shortly after the buttock augmentation, light walks are possible and recommended. However, you should avoid strenuous exercise for the first few weeks. Sport can be resumed approximately 4 - 6 weeks after the operation, depending on the type of sport practiced.

Sauna, solarium and swimming pool visits should be avoided for the first 2 - 4 weeks. It is also important to protect the buttock region from direct sunlight and to avoid any pressure on the treatment areas.

The procedure itself takes place under general anesthesia and is not associated with any pain for you. In the first few weeks after the Brazilian butt lift, wound pain may occur, which our patients experience to varying degrees. We will therefore prescribe you a suitable painkiller in advance for the time after the operation.

Around two weeks after the Brazilian butt lift, our patients are usually able to work and socialize again. Depending on your occupation, you may need to take a longer break from work. Dr. Schumacher will inform you about this in a personal consultation before the Brazilian butt lift.
